Randy Lane
The Randy Lane Company
Randy Lane is recognized as one of radio's most innovative programmers
and talent specialists. He has been at the forefront of developing
the Hot AC and Modern AC formats. His own winning PD track record
includes WKQX/Q101 in Chicago, Star 98.7/KYSR in Los Angeles and
WRQX/Washington.
As a talent coach, Randy has directed top personalities including
Mancow, Jamie White and Danny Bonaduce, Leeza Gibbons, Mark &
Brian, Elvis Duran, Don Bleu and Ryan Seacrest, to name a few. Current
clients include talents such as Kidd Kraddick, The Weather Channel,
etc.. Randy initiated the Morningmasters program in 1991 as one
of the first morning consulting services.
The Randy Lane Company has coached talent in virtually all music
formats, including Top 40, Adult Contemporary, Rock Alternative,
Classic Rock, Urban/Hip Hop, Oldies, Country, News and Sports Talk.
Randy is a very frequent lecturer at industry conventions and conferences.
He regularly writes articles for R & R, Hits, Billboard and
other industry magazines. He has won numerous industry awards including
Billboard's "Consultant of the Year" for Adult Contemporary
and Top 40 for '97, '98 and '99.
In 1996, Randy started The Randy Lane Company. The mission statement
was "to provide brand depth to stations by emphasizing talent
development as well as providing extraordinary music consulting
with a special, unique attention to air-talent, stationality and
community presence."
Randy's breadth of experience includes positions as a consultant,
General Manager, Program Director for ABC, NBC and Viacom, and air-talent.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Radio, TV & Film
from the University of Memphis. He lives with his wife, Kim, and
three children in Los Angeles, California.
